CCR Video 1 Script Q1 and Q2
Script
(Officer Smith(my dad) entered the room and went to sit down in the chair across from Avery Dawson (ME) )
Officer Smith - Hello, Avery Dawson. My name is Officer Smith. I am a substitute for Officer Garcia. I am here to ask you some questions.
Short Pause
Officer Smith - Ok let's start. How does your product use or challenge conventions, and how does it represent social groups or issues? How does your product engage with audiences, and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
(Then Officer Smith freezes, and then I look at the camera and start speaking)
Me- Hey, my name is not Avery Dawson, but I can answer this question.
(I walk out of the room and start answering the question)
Me - For, how does my group's product use or challenge conventions, and how does it represent social groups or issues? For our film, Static a use traditional conventions and the established frameworks of the mystery and psychological horror genres, utilizing a carefully crafted establishing shot to build an immediate sense of unease. By drawing technical inspiration from classics like Hitchcock’s Vertigo, the production highlights tension and uncomfortable visual techniques to honor traditional cinematic conventions. While the genre elements remain classic or the same of a typical mystery film, the film’s representation of youth actively challenges modern media tropes. Instead of portraying teenagers as rebellious or party-driven misfits, the story centers on Avery, a reserved and introverted girl who avoids social media and fashion. This subversion of the "typical" teenager allows the film to explore gender and social norms through a more grounded lens. You can see this in the way that she dresses herself. Ultimately, Static places this non-stereotypical main character at the heart of a graphic murder mystery, blending traditional horror structure with an unconventional lead character.
Pause
Me- Well, that is the first. Let's answer the last question, which is: How does your product engage with audiences, and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
(I sit on my stairs)
Me - Well, By focusing on our target audience of primarily teens, and interests with mystery and thriller films captures their attention within the storyline of Static. Static centers on a teenage girl who is subjected to severe challenges, including murder and jail. The mystery and suspenseful aspects of the movie, especially attracting many viewers in this demographic group, are what draw in teenagers. In contrast to that, our distribution provider and marketing will focus on engaging and keeping up with the digital convergences that interest this specific audience. Like in A24, social media, and film festivals. A24, a company that welcomes and supports smaller directors and producers. With its distribution and marketing strategies, A24 is notable for attracting the attention of younger generations like Gen Z. The target group that Static also strives reaching is seen through their own personal websites and numerous social media profiles and influencers.Focuses on capturing the engagement within the interests and platforms that cater to our audience's preferences.
Well, that's how we engage with our audience and how our product is distributed as a real media text.
Me- Well this are the answer for the questions that Officer Smith, or my dad, asked Avery Dawson. Thank you for watching.
